Want of a Nail

I was sub-contracted to animate this short piece for a corporate video. It’s called ‘For the Want of a Nail‘ and is supposed to illustrate how overlooking small details can lead to disaster. It goes something like this:

For the want of a nail, the horseshoe was lost.
For the want of a horseshoe, the rider was lost.
For the want of a rider, the battle was lost.
For the want of a battle the Kingdom was lost.

I used ToonBoom Digital Pro and as the storyboard and character designs were provided, it only took me about a week.

  1. WOW! that was…..unexplainabley AWESOME!

  2. the effetcs on this animation is out of this world

  3. I hope you look at this Adam, your animation is completely on the fritz. It might just be me, but that animation skips back and forth throughout.

    • it seems only the 480p version does that….I don’t understand why a high resolution would do that since its supposed to use the same source video as 360p right?

  4. That zoom in on the horseshoe at the end seems unnecessary. The crown hanging on a nail left a clear enough message, along with being fantastic imagery.
