Normaly im content to simply spam the daily sketch, but i figure its probably better for everybody if i start putting this crap somewhere that people aren't forced to look at it- before i do somebodys eyeballs some permanent damage and get sued
(warning fairly large post, you still have time to turn back now but you'd better be quick)

did you ever try blending the colours in more? I like your style but you could smooth it out a bit more.
also your drawings are kickass and full of energy!

Hey man some great stuff, it'd be nice to see your talents applied elsewhere though.(i.e. try working on something other than creatures you've created)
You have a beautifully loose style which is a great thing. I think my favourite piece is the clock because of the flow of light on the gold.

really nice paintings tom! i love your style alot

a small crit on the frog, somehow the silhouette gets lost, its flowing into the background somehow, maybe you should add another light source on one side to put emphasize on the contours, plus the green of it looks really dark, maybe brighten it a bit up, i would also use brighter highlights, since you have pure white on his lip and chest

the second painting is really cool, did u draw it from life or imagination?

i am so in love with your choice of colors in the third one!!! it looks awesome some kind of pastel and oily color sheme
nice warm-cold contrast some more refined rendering and some details here and there could be good on this one...what did u paint this on? looks like a photograph underneath...

i like the last one too, but pure black in such a mass makes the pic heavy in some way, maybe use a dark blue for a color contrast or add greens, idk, i would also change the composition a bit
increase the perspective and diagonal lines much more...lol but thats some minor stuff the painting itself is really nice!

really like your stuff, you improved alot! you should definately post some more!
hope you dont mind my crits, your paintings are really good...im a bit weird with my critting behaviour  Embarrassed

nice to see you here again mate!

thanks for the crits kata- all very valid points. And you got sharp eyes- that third one is painted on a photograph- i orginally painted it in traditional media and then played with it in corel a bit.

So i might as well post some of the stuff thats going in my portfolio (i reserve the right to censor out the truly shitty stuff)

luckily for me i have a few weeks to make these less horrible to look at and hopefully produce some decent work before i have any interviews

awesome stuff, im really digging your style

i had to laugh about the mantis pic, nice idea

i really like the house too!

about the last nude, its really nice, i like the style of it but composition wise i think you shouldve worked a bit more on the background, im doing the same mistake but even more than you do...i normally dont spend a line on the bg..but i have to change that ^^
i was told not long ago that i should put the same effort in every single inch of the scetch/painting or whatever, not concentrating too much on a single object or so O.o but thats me...youre on the right way, keep it up...are those some of your portfolio works?
that would mean id have to upload mine too Undecided

 argh!

thanks, and yeah I'd like to flesh out some of the life drawing a bit, but they give us a time limit i think that one was 20 mins so its difficult to get all the detail in. So yeah thats some of the stuff outa my shitty portfolio- now you're pretty much contractually obliged to post some of yours  Grin

just some random doodles ive been accumulating for some time:

im really digging those 2

Quote

especially the last one, its really fascinating coz of the big variety of hues, the colors are really working together and with your loose style the whole pic starts moving somehow, coz of the strokes and the clolor flow, amazing work, you sould do that in your other pics too
i should do that more often but i dont dare...i need to start on a more loose and messy style too, i can add my fine rendering alter on too bbut somehow i cant...well i gotta practice i guess

but enough from me...aweseome stuff....i will make pics of my stuff today or tomorrow and will post them up, but be aware, the stuff is really boring
