I fell in love with Shaun Tan's work when I read The Arrival many months ago. Recently I picked up copies of Tales from Outer Suburbia and Lost & Found. I find his control of characters and narrative stunning, his artistry and color use captivating, and his little doodles and absurd designs hilarious. Anyone else enjoying his works?

You can find his website at http://www.shauntan.net/, and find a good number of samples of his artwork in the Picture Books section.

If you haven't seen anything written or illustrated by Tan, I suggest you do.

I just recently came to Tan's work via a copy of The Arrival in a random bookstore -- and I totally agree.  Magnificent work, magnificent imagination.  I still think my favorite is the "red tree" story from Lost and Found... (but several of the individual "past" illustrations in The Arrival still blow my mind)  Can't wait to see more from this guy!

Cheers,
