OOC: here are a few characters that may or may not be useful for your characters

SS-Gruppenführer (Major General) Schöpfer Zerstörer: A war hero from the 1st World War, Schöpfer was a successful, charasmatic commander who strongly believed in a "großes Deutschland" (great Germany). After the war, he blamed Germay's defeat on it's lack of superiority. Now a member of the SS, and a devoted servant of the Führer, Schöpfer has giving his life to "advancing" Germany's military status, inventing new ways to "deal with imperfections". His public image demands respect and admiration, but many question his visions for Germany.

Hermes, Angel of Stalingrad: Tales tell of an Angel by the name of Hermes. This angel fell from heaven, landing in an ancient forest. Hermes began to connect with his new home, befriending the spirits who dwelled there. However, when man came, they brought pain. They built settlements where trees had once spent an eternity. Hermes felt teh pain of the forest, it's agony consumed him, corrupting him, filling hhim with a single desire. Vengeance. Now, in the city of Stalingrad, a small forest clings to existence. No one seems to have the nerve to cut it down, as those who did never returned. Within the spirit world Hermes is a tragic creature, to be abhorred, feared and pitied. He cannot be tamed though and one day, his plan will blossom, while the flower of humanity, turns to ash.

Hope they'll be helpful, i'll control them. Don't feel pressured to directly interact with them, but they'll be significant later. Perhaps.

IC: "It's ok.. Rosa will keep you company. Best leave Jupiter alone, he's the grumpy one." Anna smiled again. She turned back towards the man "My names Anna, but you can call me Sun." Her eyes glinted in the darkness "See you in the morning.. Sweet dreams."

She closed the door and gently locked it behind her. She looked out accross the landscape. A small figure could be seen racing accross the horizon.

"Time for bed time angel..." She turned and went back to bed.

OOC: Don't worry, things will perk up soon enough  Wink

George watched the girl leave, and after she closed the door he turned to take another look at the barn.
The glow from his body, along with exelent night vision allowed him to find his way without any external light source. George walked over to a pile of hay and took off the shop from his back. He set it on the ground and removed a blanket, he lay the blanket on the haystack and then settled down to sleep. Who knew what the morrow would bring...

Name: Gerwulf (German name combining Ger- Spear, and Wulf- wolf)
Eye colour:  Brown
Hair colour: Blonde
Hair type: spearheaded buzzcut
Age: 25
Race/nationality: Human, German
Hometown/residence: Berlin, Germany
Religion: Catholic
Class/job: Army, 1st Lieutenant
Clothing/suit: Basic German Uniform, no helmet
Notable Features: None
Aura: War torn, he follows orders to the letter but can't help but question them in his head
Equipment:  MP40, Engraved Nazi Youth Knife "Blut und Ehre!" (Blood and Honor!)
Abilities: prefers sublety instead of rushing into the enemy
Brief Background: Born in Berlin and raised with strong German patriotism, enlisted into the Nazi army at his first chance, ready to fight for his country.  Though he is proud of Germany and making his country strong, he feels uneasy about some of the Nazi's tactics and beliefs.

Gerwulf was enjoying his vacation, or at least as close as he could get to one.  It was an honour, really, to be able to return to his home, to his capitol.  He'd been roaming around the Fatherland from one corner to the next in a small group of soldiers that were sent to encourage recruitment and "boost moral", like anyone needed more.  Things hadn't been too bad lately, great if anything if one were to look at the success of Germany, but Gerwulf had grown homesick on his time away, the sight of each inspired recruit lessened with each passing day.  But, now here he was again, patrolling the Reichstag no less!  The guard was more show then force, who would be crazy enough to attack? But nonetheless, once his shift was over Gerwulf was able to enjoy his city once more.  The imposing Victory Column was one of his favorite sights and was very near, there had been some talk of moving it towards the Tiergarten, but nothing had happened yet.  The city was bustling with people and stored with history, the Altes and new Pergamon museums saw to that, Gerwulf had traveled to Museum Island  many times in his childhood and was hoping to see the Pergamon soon, it had far more exhibits now then when it opened just 5 years before.  His day was stoic but enjoyable, wake up to take the early shift, eat lunch later on and enjoy the town, head back for the afternoon shift,  pray at Wilhelm, then have supper with his family.  The sad truth of it all is that he knew it would end sooner or later, he'd be needed on some special duty or be shifted out just for the sake of it.  But for now, he enjoyed his time back home, and hoped for later then sooner.

The traveler Otomar Zure was staring at the top of his tent. He couldn't sleep. He needed a job, and he needed money. It appeared as the though the shopkeeper was shorthanded, and that this may be Zure's only chance at financial redemption for some time. He rolled over to face the tremendously scenic view of the side of his tent. "Bah... the man carries an entire shop on his back! What makes me think that he needs an assistant?" Otomar's flawless French sometimes astounded even himself. "But I will have to try. If I can't even feed myself half the time, who will sell me anything?" The possibilities were driving the man completely inane.

Otomar stood up. Sitting around pondering the futures fate would get him nowhere, including to sleep. As he exited his tent, Zure promptly hit his head against a tree directly above the entrance. "I knew camping here was a bad idea!" *grumble* "At least the tree holds up the tent." He treaded lightly to the edge of the forest.  "No." Oto stopped. "I'm not getting into this at this ungodly hour." He turned around to head back for his tent. Oto stopped again. "Grrr... But I need to know! I need to find out if anything will be different!" He ran to the door of the barn before stopping a third time. "Intrude on someone else's sleep? One who could possible offer a job? GAH!" After much, MUCH more deliberation, Zure found himself in front of his tent under the hour. He stuck his staff about a foot away from the entrance and re-entered the tent.

Half an hour later, Otomar could not be awakened even by a gunshot.

George woke at 12:33 am. He sat up on his hay mattress and looked at the door to the barn. He had always been plagued by nightime awakedness, so he was used to it. However, that did not diminish it's inconveniency. George sighed. Perhaps he could go for a midnight walk... No, then he would be tired in the morning. And he wanted to be fully awake so he could thanks Sun's parents for the hospitality, and apologise for any problem he may have caused.
George sighed again and rolled over to fall back asleep. But sleep did not come easily.

Good.. evening ladies and gentleman, I'm back  Grin

Yeah sorry, but I don't have control over this PC. To make up for lost time here's a special update that will hopefully get this ball rolling

Firslty, I had an idea, the setting of 1935 was to act as a starting point due to its historic significance. However, it will likely take a long time to even reach the more exciting period of 1936 (the Spanish Civil War). So we'll run with 1935 for a little while, to introduce characters and set the foundation. But soon (and i'll warn you before hand), there will be a time shift. I figured that this way the chance of the narrative being bogged down would be less likely. You must remember that Germany invaded Poland in 1939 (when the Spanish Civil War ended). Therefore there is too great a gap to convey day-to-day life, instead ideas and moods must be defined and built upon. I'll try and create more characters to fill in the gaps and give the likes of Darkly Chaotic's Hellflame someone to interact with. I honestly didn't expect everyone to intervene in Poland (a rather dull place at this time), so i'll try and shift things a little to living your imaginations.

IC:

-------------------------------------------------------

"March 21st 1935... Are you prepared?"

"Yes sir.." said the timid woman. Schöpfer looked at her, expressionless. "Yes SS-Gruppenführer Schöpfer Zerstörer, sir"

SS-Gruppenführer Schöpfer Zerstörer looked out the window of his Berlin office at a city filled with untarnished hope and victorious promises. He held up his glass of champagne, noticing a lttle dirt on the rim. He put the glass on the desk and walked over to the frightened child. Her wiry hands quivered over the typewriter keys, her lipstick unable to hide her inconvidence. He frowned behind her back, before gently placing his hands on her shoulders.

"Come now, little mädchen. We can't have you messing up every session, and we've only just started."

"Ye.. yes Gruppenführer, sir." she tried to find her courage, when a knock on the door made her jump.

"Come in! Come in!" A soldier walked in, carrying folders. The girl looked at the two men, before Schöpfer waved her to leave. The soldier saluted, handing over the folders.

"SS-Gruppenführer Schöpfer Zerstörer, sir, SS-Scharführer Hund Köder, sir. These are the papers for recruitment and the ones you requested."

"Thank you.. Hund" He smiled "Tell the recruiting officers to put forward their most promising candidates for.. inspection. Also, I want training increased, especially on machinary operations." Hund noded obediently. He accepted some papers before taking his leave. "One more thing. I want one division to prepare for deployment in Spain." Hund looked confused.

"With permission" Schöpfer noded "Why Spain?"

"Because even ideas need to be... tested.  The rest of the world is not as fortunate as us Hund. Their ideas are their undoing." Hund left. Schöpfer turned back towards the window, he sipped his glass, lost in thought. He shouted "Come in little mädchen!" He spoke to himself, inspecting the clear glass "The world can't wait to hear my ideas."

-----------------------------------------------

It was the morning after and Sun couldn't believe what she was hearing, not because she was tired, but because it threatened her with reality.

"We have to leave." her father said. "There's no money in the farm anymore, everything's in the city."

"But we're not city folk." her mother argued

"Darling, look at us, we're living in poverty here, and i'm no farmer. I have friends in the city and there's plenty more for you and Sun" Sun smiled

"But we don't have a car!"

"We can take the horses, it's not far"

"It's too crowded"

"We'll get used to it"

"Sleepy man!" Sun, loudly, remembered.

"Don't shout Anna, what sleepy man?" her mother asked.

"Man sleeping with Rosa, in the barn, last night" her parents eyes widened.

"What! A man in my barn" her father raced out the door, closely followed by Sun and her mother. Josef oppened the barn doors to see a strange man packing a large baggage. "Would you kindly explain this." he said, looking at the two guilty culprits.

----------------------------------------------

Newspaper reports all around the world.

"Two men dissapear in old forest" - Russia
"Ogre convicted of ilegal arms dealing" - Britain
"War breaks out between a feared Turkish gang and unidentified opposition, Germany blamed" - Turkey
"Fear spreads through France, reports of "Boogeymen"" - Britain
"Man befriends spirit, Church condemns it" - Italy
"Recruitment at all time high" - Germany
"Elections to be held soon" - Spain
"Old man predicts the world will end in 1940" - America
------------------------------------------------------------------

OOC: I don't know why i added that last part, TIP for anyone thinking of joining, spread out, don't be afraid of isolation, i'm here for you. I might add some more characters, with the key aim of giving your characters something to do. Time will shift soon enough so prepare to fill in the gap and do anything you want to get done (establishment of characters role, etc). Hope that wasn't too much. Just to let you know. I'm still here.

Till next time  Wink

George ignored the intrusion while he finished packing and then stood up and shouldered the pack.
"Good morn to you sir." He nodded at the man. Then looked at Sun and smiled.
"I told you it'd get you in trouble." George addressed the man in the doorway now, "You must be her father... I'm sorry for surprising you like this, sir. I was just lookin' around for some lodging and thought this might work. I asked of course, and your daughter said it was fine if I used the barn. Sorry to ruin a most likely pleasant mornin' for you."
George shifted the weight on his back. "Perhaps I can pay you back for the hospitality. I'm a runecarver you see. So maybe I can interest you in some goods as payment. Maybe a ward to keep off the foxes. Or a runed fireplace that only needs one log for a whole night of warmth. If not, and you just want me to leave then I'll be on my way, and with my apologies for the intrusion."
George's glow was visible even in the daylight, and it was -now that it was day- even more apparent that it came from his body, and not an external source.

From this distance it was hard to make much out, but only because of the sunlight. To Otomar it appeared as though there was much commotion about the entrance to the barn. "Well, nows my chance." He pulled his staff from the ground and hefted it in the direction of his tent. After the tent was completely put away, Zure began the short march to the edge of the forrest, which led to the barn. As he reached field separating him from the barn, a very faint glow at in barn entrance was visible. "That's probably the guy. But what's with that small crowd gathered in front of the barn? May as well find out..." Otomar trudged on.

Sun's parents looked at the glowing man, baffled. Some of the things he had said seemed hard to believe, hard to understand. Sun smiled back at the man.

"What's with that glow..." Helen said to herself

"Excuse me, but I don't know who you are or what kind of business you are trying to run. Intruding on my property i can forgive" he looked at Sun "But me and my family have a lot of work to do today, so i suggest you find business somewhere else." Sun stared at the man for a while..

"Wait, you're not a man, you're a spirit aren't you?" she started to get excited. Her dad, his eyes widening, got somewhat more thrilled.

"Really! A real spirit? Helen didn't i tell you? I remember seeing one of you lot during the war, a relative perhaps?" he rushed up to the man "Take of your baggage and come have some breakfast. You do have breakfast don't you?" Sun giggled to herself. Her dad shared her passion for fairytales, but he tended to frighten them all away. Her mother however was more sceptical.

"Give the man peace Josef" She turned around to see another man heading towards them "We're popular today aren't we" she whined before heading indoors.

George smiled at Josef, "Well, haha. I'm cyric. So I suppose you could call me a spirit. And yes, thank you, I do eat breakfast." George removed his pack and set it on the ground. "If it's not a disruption then I'd like to take you up on the offer of food. And as I said; I'm a runecrafter. So perhaps I can repay you with some runed items."

OOC: Yay! I feel wanted! Yeah I just went on this family camping trip that took up the weekend. Sorry that this has been held up because of me.

IC: Otomar exited the fields And was about 40 yards from the glowing shopkeeper and the small group. He cast a little bit of floating flame above his staff to increase the already incredibly charismatic appearance he upheld. Zure was now only 20 yards away from the group. He decided to see if the group would care if he was here. "Ahoy there! Are you the one they call George?" He yelled to the glowing man. While approaching the group further, he increased the size of the flame above his staff. Zure might need it.
