Your.Preferences

So I would like to know
if you have any preferences in coding
Even down to how many line breaks you have If you have a preference you feel like sharing
Drop it off here.
This could help someone find something they like more or just see some ways of doing things they didn't know about before.
I am currently doing alot of as3 work (It is what inspired this thread)
And I have a color preference for my Action Script panel.



I will also be posting some CSS stuff I find incredibly neat but that stuff will come later as I understand CSS more and more.
Like I said though any kind of Tip or trick/preference you have in any programming language would benefit this thread!

I used 4 spaces per tab, and I keep a rigorous indentation mechanic.  I indent the way python has taught me to indent.  Every loop (for loop, if statement, while loop) gets one additional tab.  This helps me keep priority correctly.
