what about hardware?

im thinking of starting to learn the piano, taking some lessons in the summer.  i used to play the violin from 6-12 years old then stopped when i started high-school.
i wanna get a keyboard that can connect to the computer cause i wanna make the music digitally.  anyone have any recommendations? i dunno where to start.

Wow late reply! Sorry if its too late to help but I figure you could (depending on what kind of outputs your keyboard has) just get a cable adapter to convert your output to 1/8 inch and just stick in to your computer's line in. That would be the simplest set up. As far as keyboards go, I'd say get something cheap but that has velocity detection (how hard you hit the keys) and an output you're at least a little familiar with.
